Wolves are potentially in for a very busy week or so with the transfer window shutting next Friday.
The club have not been very active over the past month, and fans were left frustrated by a report earlier this week suggesting that there is only around £20 million to spend, despite the sales of Max Kilman and Pedro Neto.
A few players could be leaving in the coming days.
They are likely to be Daniel Podence, Goncalo Guedes, Fabio Silva and possibly Chiquinho.
But Tottenham Hotspur could now make a play for one of Wolves‘ more established first-team stars with just days to go until the closure of the window.
Tottenham eye late move for Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes

It has been claimed by Give Me Sport that Tottenham might come calling for Joao Gomes in the coming days.
On social media recently, there has been a lot of speculation that Spurs might try and move for the Brazilian dynamo, who was linked with the north Londoners earlier this year.
Gomes has proven himself to be a top midfielder in the Premier League, after joining Wolves in January 2023.
He had his first full season in 2023/24, and really shone in the engine room alongside Mario Lemina, and was hailed by Dave Edwards as the best ball-winner he has ever seen at Wolves.
Give Me Sport say that Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou is seeking fresh midfielder options before the transfer deadline, and Gomes is on his radar.
Postecoglou is said to want an energetic midfielder capable of driving forward, and the Australian is apparently threatening to test Wolves’ resolve over Gomes. He is said to be ‘desperate’ for that last-minute addition.
Former Wolves player Morgan Gibbs-White is also being considered by Spurs alongside Gomes.
Not a chance Wolves are selling Gomes
Spurs and Postecoglou could well come calling for Gomes in the final days of the window – but there is little to no chance of Wolves letting him go.
£30,000-a-week ace Gomes is considered a hugely important player by Gary O’Neil.
He and Lemina epitomise what this Wolves team is all about nowadays, and Wanderers are surely not about to sell such a crucial player at this stage of the summer.
There is already an expectation for a lot of Wolves fans that Gomes might not be staying for years at Molineux like former stars Ruben Neves and Pedro Neto did.
But he will not be sold in the coming days, despite Postecoglou’s apparent desperation.
