Tolu Arokodare the subject of shock January claim just months after signing for Wolves

Tolu Arokodare cost Wolves a pretty penny in the summer, and the striker is now the subject of a shock claim.

Tolu Arokodare came to Molineux as the final signing of the 2025 summer window, joining the pack from Genk.

The ace had plundered 23 goals across all competitions, and there were high hopes that the Nigeria international would help ease the burden on Jorgen Strand Larsen.

But it hasn’t been the best of starts for Arokodare, although he hasn’t played nearly enough as he should have.

The star has scored two goals so far, both of which came in the Carabao Cup.

Tolu Arokodare was confident he would suit the Premier League

“I think I’ll fit in pretty good. The Premier League is full of physicality, high intensity, a lot of runs, and I think I’m that kind of player. I think I’m strong. I’m fast” – Tolu Arokodare upon signing for Wolves

But there is clearly a lack of momentum for him right now, which was apparent when Arokodare played against DR Congo for Nigeria with media outlets criticising his display.

He’s still waiting for a first Premier League goal, and perhaps the arrival of Rob Edwards as the club’s new manager will be his catalyst.

But there could be a fresh start in the offing, Arokodare is the subject of a shock claim from Turkey ahead of the January transfer window.

Arokodare’s lack of minutes at Wolves has now led to a claim from Turkish outlet Sabah that Fenerbahce are plotting a potential loan move for the striker in January.

Fenerbahce are aiming to strengthen their attack in January and currently have several targets for the striker position. The publication claims around 10 names are on their list at the moment.

The top two are said to be Robert Lewandowski and Alexander Sorloth.

But it’s then suggested that Fenerbahce are considering making a loan offer with a purchase option for Arokodare.

There is no word on how receptive Wolves or Arokodare himself would be to such a move.

However, since Arokodare only signed for Wolves at the end of the 2025 summer window, one would imagine Old Gold officials won’t be wanting to lose him.

It would be a real shock if Arokodare ended up leaving Wolves in the next window, given how much money the club invested in him.

He came into the 2025/26 season lacking fitness which perhaps explains his slow start, as do the lack of opportunities afforded to him by Vitor Pereira.

Wolves players with the least minutes so far in 25/26
Mateus Mane – 20
Fer Lopez – 235
David Moller Wolfe – 240
Ki-Jana Hoever – 252
Tolu Arokodare – 312

There is something there with Arokodare though.

The two goals he’s scored were taken very well and clearly he’s very good in front of goal when it gets into dangerous positions.

With Edwards now ready to get started at Wolves, perhaps Arokodare will soon turn a corner. Undoubtedly he needs to be getting more minutes than he has been, so hopefully Edwards will lean on him more than Pereira did.
