The proposal Wolves have made to sign Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal

Wolves are in for a busy week, as Gary O’Neil seeks to strengthen his squad further before the transfer deadline.

Three new players came in at the start of the window in the form of Rodrigo Gomes, Pedro Lima and Jorgen Strand Larsen.

But Wolves fans have been slightly concerned lately with the lack of activity. The objective this season is to secure European football, and some feel that won’t be possible with the current squad.

Wolves are in the market for new players.

There is confidence that a deal for centre-back Bastien Meupiyou will get done.

There have also been links to Aaron Ramsdale in recent days – and a report has now shared details of one bid that has been sent to the Gunners.

Wolves and Arsenal have been in talks over Aaron Ramsdale, who is the number two goalkeeper now at the Emirates Stadium.

David Raya became the number one last term, and Ramsdale’s future has been in doubt as a result.

Wolves are keen, which is very interesting and does suggest that Jose Sa could be set to depart. There is no way Ramsdale would come to Wolves if he would not become the number one.

So the fact Wolves are interested does point to something happening with Sa.

Wolves have apparently already made one proposal for the England international.

According to the Mirror, Wolves offered to take Ramsdale – a player described as ‘phenomenal’ by ex-Arsenal and England goalkeeper David Seaman – on loan and proposed a buy option of £25 million for next summer.

Arsenal surely won’t accept

It is difficult to see Arsenal agreeing to these terms proposed by Wolves if true.

Ramsdale may have slipped down the pecking order, but he still has a lot of quality and Arsenal are unlikely to agree to a buy option.

The Gunners have been reported to prefer to sell Ramsdale. So they would possibly be interested in a loan move that would include an obligation to buy clause. An option doesn’t guarantee them any money though so that could be an issue.

It is going to be really interesting to watch this particular story unfold in the coming days, as seemingly, it is going to depend on what happens with Sa.

If he is going to stay, then Wolves will surely not push ahead with a move for Ramsdale.
