The summer transfer window could land Wolves a significant financial windfall, with Fosun no doubt licking their lips at the prospect.
Matheus Cunha’s £62.5 million release clause will be triggered by one club and pocket Wolves a club-record sum for a player, beating the £54 million received for Pedro Neto.
Cunha’s agent is in talks with Manchester United and the Brazilian is open to a move to Old Trafford, although Cunha is also Newcastle’s top target and on Nottingham Forest’s radar.
Forest have made a habit out of signing players from Wolves over the years, most notably Morgan Gibbs-White, who was sold for an initial £25 million in August 2022.
The Englishman has enjoyed an incredible three seasons at the City Ground, with the current one primed to deliver Champions League football and a hefty sum of money.

Nottingham Forest slap £100m price tag on Morgan Gibbs-White
In the Premier League this term, the 25-year-old has returned an impressive five goals and nine assists in 27 appearances, becoming a superstar under Nuno Espirito Santo.
Gibbs-White has been linked with Manchester City as a result, with the Citizens eyeing a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, though their hopes of signing him have just been dashed.

According to talkSPORT, Forest have slapped a £100m price tag on the attacking midfielder, who sees his contract expire in June 2027.
This news concerns his former club because Wolves included a sell-on clause in the Gibbs-White transfer, meaning they will earn 10% of any future fee.
Simple maths tells you that successfully selling the England star would see the Old Gold pocket a sum of £10 million, which would hand Vitor Pereira a boost to his transfer kitty, although it seems unlikely Forest would sell their prized possession.
It is, however, more likely that Wolves will receive £1.5 million from the Gibbs-White deal should his current side qualify for Europe, and as they’re cemented in third position, a healthy sum of cash will be heading their way.

The academy graduate is now on the verge of becoming a world-class attacking midfielder, as links to a club like Man City would suggest.
Gibbs-White has also been relentlessly consistent with his attacking output, producing some solid goal and assist numbers at Forest.
