Wolverhampton Wanderers are again being linked with a move for Goncalo Guedes – and one wonders if a swap deal could be in the offing.

According to Goal, the club are considering making a bid for the Portugal international.

It is noted that super-agent Jorge Mendes, who has facilitated many transfers for Wolves in the past, has a great relationship with Valencia owner Peter Lim.

It’s explained Guedes has long been desired by Wolves.

It will be interesting to see if something can happen between now and the end of the window.

One thing Wolves fans should perhaps look out for, is the potential for a swap deal involving Rafa Mir.

It was reported by La Razon a couple of months ago that Valencia would potentially be willing to sell Guedes to Wolves on the cheap if Mir was included as part of the deal.

Mir has been heavily linked with Atletico Madrid recently. But the reigning Spanish champions now look to be on the tail of Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic.

Football Italia are saying an agreement has been reached for the Serbian striker.

Swap deal pending?

It would be potentially quite tricky for Wolves to land Guedes on a permanent deal.

He cost Valencia around £36 million back in 2018. And he still has two years left on his contract.

The 24-year-old hasn’t been totally consistent during his time in Spain. That said, he’s still a talented and versatile forward who is still a few years away from peak.

It would be no surprise to see Wolves trying to facilitate a swap involving Guedes and Mir.

It has to be a possibility if Mir has told Bruno Lage he wants to depart

Having said that, the club tonight released pictures of the player back training at Compton Park.

It remains to be seen what that means exactly, but as long as the player’s contract expires next year, there’s a chance Wolves will look to offload him.
