Wolves’ move for Che Adams is now unlikely – but the club are said to be working on a deal for Boulaye Dia.
It was reported earlier today by Fabrizio Romano that Wolves had actually made a bid for Dia last night.
It was rejected by Salernitana, who see the Senegal international as a key player.
But in the last hour or so, it has been reported that Southampton are currently blocking Adams’ proposed move to Wolves.
Wolves had been hoping to sign him on loan.
No reasons have yet been offered as to why the Saints have done this.
But Wolves are now looking to quickly move on…
Sky Sports News say Wolves are actively working on Boulaye Dia deal after Che Adams blow
Just before 4pm today on Sky Sports News, and update was given by a reporter on Wolves’ current activity.
Kirsty Edwards at Molineux said: “They really would like to add to their firepower here at Wolves. They were hoping to do that in the form of Che Adams on a loan deal from Southampton. At the moment, that deal looking very unlikely.
“They have got other options. Boulaye Dia scored 16 goals and got six assists last season in Serie A playing for Salernitana. Work still in progress in trying to bring him here to Molineux.”
It was also said that Wolves are still trying to get Harrison Reed in from Fulham.
Pressure on now for Wolves after Adams development
The Adams development is frustrating for Wolves, who must now scramble to bring in another striker.
Seemingly that is what they really want to do with just hours left in the window.

It remains to be see if Salernitana are willing to talk about a deal for Dia.
Potentially, Wolves may have to pay over the odds for the player since they don’t want to lose him.
