Sources confirm Wolves transfer work behind the scenes as truth of Diego Carlos bid revealed

Molineux News can exclusively reveal that Wolves have been scouting defenders in France as Vitor Pereira eyes a left-sided centre-back.

The Wolves manager is eager to get more players in before the January transfer window closes in less than two weeks.

Pereira wants to sign two more players at Wolves, making his transfer plans clear following the early capture of Emmanuel Agbadou from Stade Reims.

Now that Agbadou has adapted to life in England, the Old Gold are wasting no time on their quest to acquire an additional centre-back and, a midfielder.

Wolves were scouting a left-sided centre-back in France

Even before the transfer window opened, it was made clear that Wolves wanted to sign a new centre-back.

After the Old Gold failed to welcome a central defender in the summer, a sense of urgency kicked in following the devastating season-ending injury to Yerson Mosquera.

Fortunately, Matt Hobbs is eager to support Pereira on the transfer front, with the sporting director keeping his word as Wolves are actively scouring the market.

Speaking to football transfers expert Graeme Bailey of TBR Football, Molineux News can exclusively confirm that Wolves were recently scouting talent in France.

Wolves representatives are understood to have been specifically eyeing a left-sided centre-back to bolster Pereira’s defence back at Molineux.

Who the Old Gold were looking at remains unclear at this moment, as Wolves’ search for a Premier League-ready centre-back ramps up.

Truth behind Wolves bid for Diego Carlos

On the subject of Premier League-proven central defenders, a report from the Daily Mail claimed that Wolves had tabled a bid for Aston Villa centre-back Diego Carlos.

A bid in the region of £10m was reportedly presented by the West Midlands club in an attempt to hijack Carlos’ transfer to Fenerbahce.

Sources close to Molineux News have played down that a bid was submitted by Wolves, however, there are links between Wolves and the Brazilian, who is likely to leave Villa.

Wolves’ search for a centre-back goes on, as do their hopes to recruit a new midfielder, in what is set to be an incredibly busy end to the transfer window at Compton Park.
