Wolves fans have been reacting to reports of interest from the club in Valencia striker Maxi Gomez.

AS have claimed the 24-year-old is an option for Nuno Espirito Santo, who is without main striker Raul Jimenez after the Mexican fractured his skull against Arsenal.

No return date has been set for Jimenez, but it seems he’ll be out of action for a while.

Perhaps expectedly, Wolves are now being linked with a new striker, with AS claiming Gomez is on the club’s radar.

Gomez almost wound up in English football in 2018, with West Ham reportedly close to completing a deal.

But he ultimately moved to Valencia from Celta Vigo, and has scored 13 goals in 52 appearances for Los Che.

Valencia are known to be in a precarious financial position at the moment, and could seek to cash in on Gomez to alleviate some of the pressure.

On social media, Wolves fans were largely open to seeing a move for Gomez come to fruition, although some expressed their reservations.
