Wolverhampton Wanderers could reportedly make another approach for Ainsley Maitland-Niles, with the player open to a loan exit from Arsenal.

The Daily Mirror has claimed the England international is looking to seal a temporary move away from the Emirates Stadium in order to boost his European Championship hopes.

England boss Gareth Southgate has made it clear players need to be playing regularly if they are to be considered for his final squad.

Maitland-Niles has found opportunities hard to come by this season, with Mikel Arteta handing him just five Premier League starts so far.

He started five of the club’s six Europa League group stage matches, but most of his appearances this term have been cameos.

Wolves, of course, were strongly linked with a move for Maitland-Niles during the last transfer window, with Sky Sports claiming the club were actually unsuccessful with a £15 million offer.

Whether Wolves actually make a loan move for the 23-year-old in the next few days remain to be seen.

Arguably, it is unlikely he’ll wind up at Molineux given the midfield and full-back options Nuno Espirito Santo has at his disposal.

On social media, some fans have been reacting to the new report about Maitland-Niles’ availability.

It seems fans are generally still open to seeing him join the club:
