Significant Kevin Danso development as player stance now shared amid two failed Wolves bids

Wolves are pushing to sign another centre-back before next Monday’s transfer deadline – and there has been another big update about Kevin Danso tonight.

Wolves were said to have made a £16 million bid for Danso, which got fans excited.

But it was then claimed Lens rejected Wolves’ bid for Danso, and the suggestion was that the bid was slightly higher at £18.5 million.

Tonight, there has been another claim about the Danso situation and seemingly, both of the previous claims may have been true.

L’Equipe have now reported on the Kevin Danso to Wolves story – and it looks as though the club have actually made two bids for the player.

L’Equipe say that Wolves’ first bid actually went in last night, and it was swiftly rejected.

The improved bid was then sent in today by Wolves, and that has also been turned down.

But there could well be hope for Wolves. Because it’s stated Danso is interested in a move to the Premier League and ‘seems determined’ to leave the club this month.

Danso also has interest from German outfit Stuttgart, who are pushing to finish in the Champions League places again this season. They are also gunning to finish in the play-off places of this season’s League Phase of the competition.

Wolves may be reliant on Danso to force transfer

So Wolves have seen two bids turned down for Danso, but the player’s stance is encouraging if true.

This could be key in getting any deal over the line.

Danso has the potential to really agitate for a move before the deadline, and Lens may not wish to keep hold of an unhappy player.

When Joao Gomes joined Wolves in January 2023, sporting director Matt Hobbs admitted (via Wolves official) the player’s stance helped massively in getting a deal done.

Gomes had been a target for Lyon too, but his desire to join Wolves – who had offered less money than Lyon – helped the club to do the deal.
