Palhinha is a name that most fans on English football won’t be too familiar with.

The 25-year-old is just off the back of a sensational season with Sporting, who comfortably won the league title, losing just one game along the way.

Enforcer Palhinha was a key player throughout for Ruben Amorim, who is said to be very keen to retain the star this summer.

Amorim is no doubt about Palhinha’s quality.

Speaking back in February about the player, he said (via Record): “I gave him the script of maturity and the difference of four years.

“Jorge Jesus used the Palhinha of four years ago, I use the Palhinha of now.

“The credit belongs to Palhinha, that grew up that way. I often tell Palhinha that he is very good without the ball and with the ball. More than a tactical coach, I get it in Palhinha’s head that he is a special player.”

Palhinha seems the real deal

Wolves links to Palhinha are definitely exciting.

By many accounts, he seems like a fantastic player, who adds steel and control to the midfield.

He’s been selected for Portugal’s Euro 2020 squad, and Wolves fans should be looking out for him in the coming weeks.

Potentially, he could feature tonight in the country’s opener against Hungary (5pm KO).
