AS Roma are reportedly ready to cash in on midfielder Amadou Diawara, who has recently been linked with Wolves.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, relayed by Football Italia, the Guinea international could be departing the Serie A club this summer.
They are trying to sell the 24-year-old, who is also wanted by Newcastle United.
It comes after Il Tempo claimed (via Calciomercato) at the start of last month that Wolves had put forth an offer for the player.
It was claimed he had rejected Wolves’ proposal, and one from another club.
Diawara has been with Roma since 2019, joining from Napoli.
To date he has racked up 58 appearances for the club.
Should Wolves make another attempt?
With the transfer window nearing its end, time is really of the essence for Wolves.
A new central midfielder is thought to be one of the priorities, especially since it looks like Owen Otasowie could be leaving. The USA midfielder is being linked with Club Brugge at the moment.
Having already done business with Roma this summer over Rui Patricio, perhaps Wolves should test the waters.
Diawara would be a really good addition for the club. He’d bring that dynamism that is currently really lacking in the middle of the park.
It is stated by Football Italia’s translation of Gazzetta’s article that Wolves are fighting for his services and trying to reach an agreement.
Perhaps there is time for Diawara to yet have a change of heart.
