Rob Edwards reiterates Wolves’ transfer stance amid Emmanuel Agbadou exit talks

Wolves’ players continue to be linked with moves away from the club due to the poor Premier League season they are having, and Emmanuel Agbadou was the latest of those.

When a team gets relegated, or looks likely to do so, the sharks start circling as sides around the world look to get a bargain.

Most recently, Agbadou has been linked with a move to Turkey, and those reports suggest he is open to making the switch.

The Ivorian had a tricky start to the season, and after a run of poor performances found himself out of the Wolves’ starting XI. However, he has now started to find form again, and fans have been noticing.

Fans do not want to see Agbadou leave the club, and those wishes could be realised based on Rob Edwards’ latest comments.

As January approaches, the questions on transfer news at Molineux are going to increase. The Old Gold need to do some business if they want to salvage anything from this season.

Even if that ends up just being about providing some pride.

Of course, as previously mentioned, Emmanuel Agbadou is the latest star to be tipped to move away from the club in January.

But Rob Edwards is insistent that players such as the Ivorian will remain past next month.

Speaking about the January plans and if players will be sold, Edwards said (via Express and Star), “That’s not been communicated to me at all.

“I don’t want to say anything that will come back to bite me, but as I see it at the moment, I don’t think we’re in that kind of position where we would have to be selling any of the so-called ‘better ones’.”

If you are Rob Edwards in January, who is one player you would sell, and one player you’d replace them with? 💰

That stance will offer some assurance to supporters for this season.

But there is also the argument that Wolves should cash out on their top players to preserve value. However, with so much football left to play, there is no point in making Edwards’ job any more difficult.

Summer exodus likely to happen

Although performances are yet to prove it, there will be quite a few in the Wolves squad that believe they are better than Championship football, and that will spark a likely mass sale of the Old Gold’s squad.

Joao Gomes and Andre will no doubt have offers from top European clubs, as they have already received so far.

Jorgen Strand Larsen will still have admirers, despite the poor campaign for the Wanderers this season.

Emmanuel Agbadou will be the same, and that means next season’s squad will probably look drastically different.

However, that refresh may end up being a good thing in the long run.
