Rob Edwards makes ‘impossible’ Wolves transfer claim and shares Jorgen Strand Larsen latest

We are seven days into the January transfer window and it’s been relatively quiet at Wolves.

It is a huge month for the club, with the Old Gold sitting rock-bottom of the Premier League table.

The fact Wolves are 15 points adrift of safety makes for a complicated situation. Wolves want to strengthen their team, but must also factor in the potential to go down, which is currently high.

Wolves fans, which of these positions do Wolves need to strengthen the most urgently? 🤔 Let us know below!

These positions have been reported in a new article by Sky Sports…

Wolves haven’t really done anything so far this month, apart from bringing back Pedro Lima from his loan spell at FC Porto.

Fans are starting to get a little bit impatient, knowing there is a huge amount to do.

But anyone thinking this will be a window where there’ll be a complete revamp will be disappointed, with Rob Edwards explaining the reality on Tuesday.

Wolves reportedly want to strengthen in around six positions in January, with a goalkeeper, a right wing-back, a midfielder, a winger, a number 10 and a striker all on the agenda.

However, it is starting to seem like getting new players for all six of these positions will be wishful thinking.

Edwards was asked on Tuesday about the current situation at his press conference ahead of the game with Everton.

And he has admitted there won’t be ‘wholesale’ changes this month.

He said (via E&S): “We’re working hard to try and do that, but there’s certainly been a bit of an upturn in form with a few people as well, which is really welcome.

“But it’s not like in one window we’re able to have 20 out and 15 in, or something mad like that, we can’t.

“There’s going to be a little bit going on, but it’s not going to be wholesale within one window.

“Especially in January it’s impossible to do, but putting people in good form certainly helps.”

This comes after Edwards also previously stated Wolves may need to generate funds, in order to sign players this month.

Edwards fails to rule out Wolves stay for Jorgen Strand Larsen

One Wolves player who has frequently been in the gossip columns for the past few weeks is Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Strand Larsen has started on the bench for Wolves for the last few Premier League games, after failing to make a big enough impact.

While he’s been out, there’s been speculation about his future, with Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur among the teams interested in Strand Larsen.

Fill in the blank: Jorgen Strand Larsen is now worth £___million.

Edwards was asked if there is no chance of Strand Larsen being sold this month, to which he replied: “I haven’t said that.

“There’ll be interest in a number of our players, I would have thought, especially with the position that we’re in and we’ve got some really good players here.

“But we’re under no pressure to do anything if we don’t think it’s right for the football club.

“It’ll be the right thing for the football club if anyone was to go.”
