Reported Wolves target Renato Sanches ready for January exit, but he compliments AC Milan

Reported Wolves target Renato Sanches has insisted he is ready to make a January transfer – but complimented AC Milan.

The Lille midfielder reportedly came close to sealing a loan move to Molineux in the summer.

The club supposedly pulled out of a deal due to the knee injury Sanches was nursing at the time.

Wolves have remained linked with Sanches since then.

It was reported earlier this month that the club could launch a January bid for the player.

It is thought that Bruno Lage is a big admirer of the 24-year-old.

But just lately, there have been reports of interest from other clubs, including AC Milan and Arsenal.

Now, Sanches has actually spoken about his future. And his comments are potentially frustrating for Wolves transfer officials.

He told L’Equipe (quoted by Football Italia): “Maybe Milan and Arsenal are interested but I don’t know.

“Milan are a big and historic club. It’s class, I like them.

“I spoke with my agent, I know which clubs are calling and which are not, but I can’t tell now. But I know I’m ready. If an offer comes in, I’ll find out what’s best for me.”

Sanches also made a big claim that Lille had actually reached an agreement with Barcelona for his transfer in the summer.

A move did not materialise though due to his injury.

The player didn’t mention Wolves, raising questions about the accuracy of the initial reports claiming the club were close to getting him.

Wolves will have their work cut out to sign Renato Sanches in January

These comments from Sanches are slightly concerning from a Wolves transfer perspective.

He seems to be eyeing Milan, who are flying high in Serie A at the moment.

If Wolves genuinely want Sanches, then the work has to start now before the window even opens.

Talks need to be taking place and the charm offensive needs ramping up.

Potentially, a lot of clubs will be in for the star and Wolves might have their work cut out.

But with good results in the league to earn a high league position by January, and with hard work from Fosun, it’s not out of the question Sanches could still move to Molineux.
