Reported Wolves target Omar Mascarell says he wants new adventure

Wolverhampton Wanderers may have received a boost in their pursuit of Schalke 04 midfielder Omar Mascarell, with the star admitting he’s ready for a new adventure.

The 28-year-old has this week been linked with a move to Molineux, with AS claiming contact has already been made by the Premier League club.

Mascarell, who is the captain of the Bundesliga outfit, might have left in January, but refused to jump ship amid the team’s struggles.

Schalke are looking very likely to be relegated come the end of the season, which would see a number of players depart.

AS had claimed that Mascarell had been thinking about leaving, and the player has essentially confirmed that in an interview with the same publication today.

The Spaniard said: “After five years, what I most want is to look for a new adventure elsewhere.

“It’s time to focus on survival and trying to play as much as possible. Then, I will have to sit down and look at all the options.”

Come-and-get-me plea?

Mascarell’s chances of remaining with Schalke beyond the summer certainly look very slim.

If Wolves do indeed hold an interest in him, then hopefully they can wrap up a deal nice and quickly and move onto other, more high-profile targets.
