Wolves are reportedly set to send Fabio Silva out on loan.
Reports are claiming the teenager is bound for Belgian giants Anderlecht, and the hope will be for Silva to play regularly and score some goals.
During his time at Wolves, the youngster has rather had to feed off of scraps, especially last season.
Silva is firmly behind Raul Jimenez in the pecking order at Molineux.
Last term, despite the Mexican’s struggles at times, Silva would find himself stuck on the bench. And Bruno Lage sometimes even turned to the likes of Hwang Hee-chan and Daniel Podence to play through the middle.
It seems Wolves officials have come to the decision that it would be best for Silva to have a loan spell to perhaps hasten his development.
It’s reported there is no buy option in place. So it seems Wolves have every intention of bring Silva back into the first-team picture for 2023/24.
Some fans have expressed their concern about the club moving to send Silva out on loan.
The squad is certainly looking very light at the moment.
But it surely means that Wolves are now going to bring in a new centre-forward, which is something that is badly needed.
There is simply no way the club can go into 2021/22 with just Jimenez as a centre-forward option.
That would be extremely negligent of Lage’s superiors.
Wolves are surely signing a new centre-forward as Fabio Silva prepares to head out on loan
It would be an unfathomable decision if Wolves did go into 2022/23 with just one recognised centre-forward. And a centre-forward who is still very much struggling following his return from a serious injury, at that.
It is inconceivable to think that would be allowed to happen.
The club must have somebody lined up.
It would be no surprise if there was finally some activity at Molineux very soon.
Last year, Wolves’ transfers happened without too many reports preceding the actual announcement of the player.
So hopefully, the club will have one or two surprises on the horizon.
