Wanderers are expected to have a busy month.

It has been a dreadful start to 2022/23 and changes to the squad are needed.

Julen Lopetegui has come in as the new manager, and he has stated several times his desire to strengthen.

He will have a big say in what happens next month, and will work with the likes of Fran Garagarza and Matt Hobbs to secure the best possible deals.

The Times say that Wolves are currently talking to around 15 players at the moment.

Their report states that they hope to sign as many as six by the end of the window.

Wolves are likely to have to overpay for targets given their position in the Premier League table. They may also have to do some loan deals.

According to the report, their priority is a forward. And it looks as though Wolves have already managed to sort that one out, with Matheus Cunha now imminent at Molineux. He had a medical today.

Lopetegui also wants more physicality and creativity in midfield, and to strengthen at the back.

Wolves set for busy January, and that will be music to fans’ ears

Wolves officials really seem to recognise the gravity of the situation the club finds itself in.

It is clear additions are required next month, and the Cunha move has suggested there is a sense of urgency.

It hasn’t been good enough so far, and Lopetegui clearly feels he needs to add quite a few new faces.

Hopefully come the end of January, the squad will be in much better shape.

At the moment, it lacks leaders and characters so hopefully some experience stars come in.
