Report: Wolves keen to sign FC Porto defender Zaidu Sanusi

It’s been claimed Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in FC Porto full-back Zaidu Sanusi.

According to Own Goal Nigeria, the club have identified the 23-year-old as a possible transfer target ahead of the summer window.

They say in their article that Sanusi has shocked people with the way he has acquitted himself in 2020/21.

The star has been a regular for the Portuguese giants this season, clocking up 39 appearances so far, 10 of which have come in the Champions League in which Porto reached the quarter-final stage this year.

In fact, the vast majority of his appearances have been as a starter, which clearly suggests Sergio Conceicao rates him highly.

He only joined the club last summer from the Azores-based club Santa Clara, and his stock has really been rising.

According to Own Goal Nigeria, he is valued at around €20 million/£17 million.

Pressure on for Rayan Ait-Nouri?

It’s a bit of an obscure source, but obviously, Wolves are no strangers to doing business with Porto, having signed Fabio Silva and loaned Vitinha from them last year.

The club also signed Ruben Neves and Willy Boly from the Iberian giants.

It will be interesting to see if anything comes from this particular claim.

If there is indeed some interest from Wolves, then Rayan Ait-Nouri may have some work to do if he is to convince the club into triggering the buy clause they have – reported to be £20 million (Express & Star).
