Report: Wolves eyeing swoop for Joaquin Correa

Wolverhampton Wanderers are said to be looking at a potential move for Joaquin Correa.

According to Il Messaggero, the club are one of a few to be showing interest in the forward, and are in contact with his agent.

Correa has been with his current club Lazio since 2018, when he joined from Sevilla.

The star, 26, has scored 30 goals and made 18 assists in 117 appearances to date.

It’s explained that Lazio are looking to move Correa on so that they can make moves for Toma Basic and Julian Brandt.

Apparently Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are the only clubs to have made significant advances so far.

Leicester City, Arsenal and Wolves are all mentioned.

Whichever club wins the race for Correa – who has previously said he idolises Brazilian legend Kaka (via Gianluca Di Marzio) – will be getting someone who has just won an international title.

He was a part of the Argentina squad that has just won the Copa America, playing three games at the tournament.

Is someone about to leave?

One wonders if interest in Correa means the club are preparing to sell someone.

Adama Traore continues to be linked with a move away from Molineux.

The Daily Star have claimed Liverpool are readying a £30 million bid.

Right now, Wolves have decent options for the wide areas, so a move for Correa would perhaps depend on Traore or maybe Daniel Podence being offloaded.
