Wolverhampton Wanderers gave consideration to signing Angus Gunn, but the player is now set to complete a move elsewhere.

Hampshire Live have reported the Southampton goalkeeper is expected to leave St. Mary’s this summer, with Norwich City in advanced talks.

A £5.5 million move is in the offing, and it’s likely he’ll replace Orjan Nyland, who declined a contract extension.

The Canaries are supposedly confident the proposed transfer will come to fruition.

Interestingly the report states that Norwich actually fended off rival interest from several other clubs, including Wolves.

The mention for Wolves comes amid heavy speculation at the moment surrounding Rui Patricio.

It seems he could be heading for AS Roma this summer.

With Gunn closing in on a move to Norwich, perhaps Jose Sa will be Wolves’ top choice.

This is another report which seems to suggest that Patricio will be on his way this summer.

And if that is to be the case, then Wolves must get their replacement right.

It won’t be easy for whoever comes in.

Gunn would have been a decent addition for a fee in the region of £5.5 million.

However, it is no major blow that Wolves aren’t signing him. There are other options of quality out there.
