Wolverhampton Wanderers are said to be ‘certain’ to try and sign Renato Sanches in January.
The club were keen to launch a late swoop for the Portugal midfielder on transfer deadline day.

But supposedly the plug was pulled over the knee injury he is currently recovering from.
The midfielder had surgery during the off-season.
Clearly he won’t be available for a little while yet and so, Wolves opted against a move.
But fans hoping the club will reignite their interest in January will like an update from the Birmingham Mail.

They claim that Lage views Sanches as ‘the missing ingredient’ from his side.
He is the player he wanted most in the summer, and it’s stated Wolves are ‘certain to look into the possibility’ of getting him in in January.
Of course, that does not necessarily mean it will happen, as other clubs could come in. But it suggests Wolves are going to try hard to get him.
Sanches would improve Wolves massively
Everyone knows it didn’t go well for Sanches during his loan spell with Swansea City a few years ago.
But he’s put that well behind him now, and matured a lot since then.

His time in France with Lille has served him very well, and he does look to be somewhat back on track now.
He really would be a fantastic addition, as a box-to-box player who is completely different to Lage’s other options.
Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho have been great so far this season. But there is no denying there is a lack of mobility and athleticism, two things Sanches would bring.
