Wolves have been named as an interested party in talented Mexican winger Orbelin Pineda.

90min have claimed the 24-year-old is on Nuno Espirito Santo’s radar, having been impressing for Cruz Azul since joining the club for around £10 million in 2019.

Pineda is said to have expressed interest in moving to Europe after emerging as one of Mexican football’s most exciting talents.

Apparently a host of Premier League clubs are on alert to Pineda’s situation, with Everton, Southampton, Newcastle, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham having all sent scouts to watch him in 2020.

Wolves are said to be in the mix too, and may feel confident about any future deal with Raul Jimenez an international teammate of Pineda’s.

The winger has 21 caps for his country and has scored one goal against El Salvador.

Pineda could form Jimenez partnership

It remains to be seen if Wolves will actually make a move for the talented Pineda in the next transfer window.

His goals and assists statistics aren’t all that (eight and seven in 68 games), but Nuno Espirito Santo has a proven track record for improving players.

And theoretically, Pineda could work well in the same attack as Jimenez given he knows the star well from the international setup.

Maybe his form is worth keeping an eye on, although Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence are looking like real livewires at Molineux right now.
