Wolverhampton Wanderers have rejected an offer from Napoli for defender Max Kilman, believed to be around £30million.
That is according to The Athletic, who report that Napoli want to sign Kilman as a replacement for Kim Min-jae.
Kim is set to join Bayern Munich this summer and Napoli are now chasing potential replacements for the South Korean star.
Kilman is one of their top targets and the Serie A champions have now slapped an offer worth €35million (£30million) on the table.
Wolves are refusing to sell Kilman for anything less than €40million (£34million) given that the defender is under contract until at least 2026.
Kilman is also happy at Wolves and may yet choose to stay at Molineux despite the chance to play in the Champions League with Napoli.
Napoli aren’t far away from the asking price now though and if they were willing to pay £30million, a second offer could meet the asking price.
Left-footed centre backs are a hot commodity in modern football and Kilman fits the bill in that regard.
The 26-year-old probably couldn’t have dreamed of interest from Napoli when playing for Maidstone United and he may soon face a tricky decision.

Wolves may need a major defensive overhaul if Max Kilman goes
Wolves fans will be desperate to see Kilman stay but the interest was only a matter of time.
Kilman is a huge presence at 6ft 4in tall and his ability to play out from the back on the left side will appeal to many clubs.
The fear for Wolves and Julen Lopetegui is that Wolves may need a big defensive overhaul.
Conor Coady’s permanent exit has been confirmed and Nathan Collins is attracting bids from Brentford.
Rayan Ait-Nouri and Jonny are being linked away, there has been no decision on Ryan Giles yet and Dion Sanderson is wanted in the Championship.
We may soon hit a point where Wolves need to add new faces in every position across the back four, which isn’t exactly ideal for Lopetegui.
