Wolves’ luck could be in regarding a January move for Marcos Acuna, with a new report suggesting the player is keen to leave Sevilla.
It was reported earlier this week that Wolves were showing an interest in the Argentina international.
Supposedly, new boss Julen Lopetegui is keen to link back up with the 31-year-old.
Sevilla would want at least £10 million for the player, who has made 14 appearances across all competitions this season.
Now, Vamos Mi Sevilla have reported there is a growing feeling that Lopetegui could do his former club one last favour by signing Acuna.
Apparently, he is not committed to being at the club and that has been the case in the weeks leading up to the World Cup.
The suggestion is that he wants out. And Sevilla are ready to sanction his sale.
It remains to be seen if an offer will be forthcoming from Wolves, who do have two very good young left-backs at the moment in Rayan Ait-Nouri and Hugo Bueno, and another option in Jonny Castro Otto.
Marcos Acuna is seemingly there for the taking for Wolves, as report suggests he’s ready to leave Sevilla
It is starting to feel as though Acuna to Wolves is a transfer story that could have legs in January.
Lopetegui was with Sevilla for a while and knows their players inside an out. It was always likely there would be links to some of their players leading into January.
Acuna is a left-back but can also play higher up given his attacking nature. That versatility will likely appeal, as will the fact he is an experienced player.
For now, Wolves officials can keep their eye on him as he plays for Argentina at the World Cup.
He put in a pretty good performance last night in the 2-0 win against Poland.
