Wolverhampton Wanderers may have received a boost in their pursuit of Gent striker Roman Yaremchuk.
The Ukraine international was linked with a move to Molineux last month, with Calciomercato claiming Wolves and four other teams are chasing him, including Arsenal.
The likelihood of Wolves moving to sign Willian Jose is probably fairly small, with the Brazilian having scored just once during his loan stint.
Therefore, it could be that Wolves do go in for another striker this summer.
Voetbal Primeur have produced a report card on Gent for their 2020/21 season, and given ratings to the players along with descriptions.
They give Yaremchuk an 8/10 rating for the campaign after a 23-goal haul, and describe him as once again ‘dragging his troops out of the swamp’.
Interestingly, it’s added that Gent cannot really stop their talisman from leaving anymore, after he had actually wanted to depart last year.
An opportunity for Wolves?
It sounds like Yaremchuk is very much ready to move on from Gent, where has been for the past four years.
Gent finishing seventh place was extremely disappointing for them after coming runners-up the season before, and it’d be no surprise to see Yaremchuk forcing a move this summer.
It remains to be seen if Wolves will be on hand to swoop.
It’s perhaps not a priority position given Raul Jimenez will be back for the start of the 2021/22 season, but maybe if the price was right then a deal could be done.
