Barcelona are reportedly eyeing a summer move for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Adama Traore.

The club have just elected Joan Laporta as their new president for the second time, and the 58-year-old is being tipped to get the club back on track amid their financial crisis.

According to El Gol Digital though, Barca are looking at making signings this summer, with Traore supposedly in their sights, as well as Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

It’s explained the Laporta has maintained contact with his agent since his first stint as president – Traore was in the youth ranks at Barcelona back then.

Despite Traore’s struggles this season, he is still interesting to the Catalan giants, who would need to make significant player sales in order to get him.

It was recently reported by the Daily Mail that Wolves would consider offers for Traore this summer.

Their report claimed that a fee similar to what Diogo Jota was sold for (£45 million total) could tempt Wolves to offload.

Don’t count on it

By all accounts Barca are in a serious mess financially.

How they are going to be able to make significant signings this summer is anyone’s guess.

Wolves know how coveted Traore is and how uniquely dangerous he can be and will therefore still hold out for a large transfer fee.

Going back to Barca might appeal for Traore, who has five caps for Spain, but realistically it will be very difficult for them to do a deal this summer.
