Wolves reportedly made a bid for Salernitana striker Boulaye Dia last night, but it was rejected by the Italian club.
Wanderers are seeking to strengthen their squad on transfer deadline day, with Matheus Nunes having been sold to Manchester City.
Nunes’ sale for £53 million has released the purse strings a little for Wolves.
Yesterday, Wolves brought in Paraguayan youngster Enso Gonzalez and Uruguay defender Santiago Bueno.
Today has brought the arrival of Tommy Doyle on loan.
Wolves are in talks with Southampton over striker Che Adams, who appears to now be a top target.
But Fabrizio Romano has now made an interesting claim about Wolves today…
Wolves saw Boulaye Dia bid rejected
Romano has today made a rather interesting claim about Wolves’ hunt for a new striker.

He wrote on Twitter this afternoon: “Understand Wolves submitted opening bid to Salernitana on Thursday night to sign Boulaye Dia.
“Salernitana rejected proposal out of hand as Dia considered key player. Talks now ongoing for Che Adams to Wolves.”
Dia has been with Salernitana since 2022, joining on an initial loan from Villarreal.
He thrived in his first season in Italy, scoring 16 goals in 33 games.
Dia won’t be joining Wolves, but fans are expecting Adams to complete a loan move.
At the moment, talks between Wolves and Southampton are at an advanced stage.
