RB Leipzig to go ‘all in’ for Wolves attacker to replace Benjamin Sesko

RB Leipzig have looked at one Wolves player to soften the blow of losing Benjamin Sesko to Manchester United.

Sesko looks likely to join Matheus Cunha at Old Trafford after spending the majority of the summer transfer window linked to Arsenal.

Manchester United want a new number nine and have identified Sesko as the desired figure, leaving Leipzig without their favoured striker for the season ahead.

As a result, the Bundesliga club have strengthened their search for a replacement for the Slovenian and believe they’ve found the solution at Wolves

RB Leipzig go all in for Fabio Silva

Wolves fans will be relieved to learn that it’s not Jorgen Strand Larsen that Leipzig want, but Fabio Silva

Silva has been touted to move to the Bundesliga this summer, which could happen with a move to Leipzig.

The news comes from journalist Rudy Galetti, who has reported that Leipzig have decided to go ‘all in’ for Silva in response to Sesko’s pending move to Man United.

It’s noted that Sesko’s exit is ‘imminent’, which could mean that Silva’s is too, but first, the German club will have to beat the competition.

While Silva wants to move to Roma, interest in the Wolves striker is not exclusive to Italy.

Borussia Dortmund have offered a contract to Silva in a bid to land the out-of-favour Wolves forward, with multiple European clubs circling the Portuguese attacker’s next move.

Wolves must entertain a bidding war for Silva

The most important thing for Wolves is to get Silva off the wage bill.

Wolves are set to save millions in salaries this summer, with the exit-bound striker one of the highest earners.

The West Midlands club won’t make a profit on his sale, having paid £35m for his services in 2020, but a fee close to the figure is possible.

If Wolves can entertain a bidding war, the price will only rise, which, with as many interesting suitors as Silva has, is a real possibility.

All eyes will be on where the striker goes next and how much the Old Gold earn from his sale.
