Wolves were expected to make a couple of new signings on transfer deadline day, but no one thought Conor Coady would ever be linked with a return.
Wolves are set to sign two players in the final hours of the window.
Nasser Djiga is set to sign for Wolves after an agreement was reached for his transfer this morning.
And Reims midfielder Marshall Munetsi is also bound for Wolves.
But this afternoon, Wolves fans were left shocked when there were reports that the club opened talks to sign Conor Coady from Leicester City.
Wolves wanted Coady in a swap deal involving Craig Dawson.
It was then claimed that Wolves had a lot of work to do in order to get the Coady swap deal done before the deadline.
But shortly after that initial claim, it was stated that the proposed swap deal involving Coady and Dawson was off.
But there is still time in the window, and some Wolves fans have been sharing one reason why they’d like to see Coady return.
Wolves fans make Conor Coady point after sensational transfer deadline day claim

Coady is, of course, a former Wolves captain.
And during his time at the club before, he was known for his exceptional leadership qualities.
He left because he no longer fit the system, although who knows if he would have stayed had Gary O’Neil been in charge a little sooner.
On social media, some fans have explained why they’d like to see this mooted swap deal – even though it’s now looking unlikely – actually happen.
Leicester reject Wolves over Coady, but never say never
It has been reported this evening that Leicester have rejected Wolves’ proposal of swapping Coady for Dawson.
But things can never be entirely ruled out on transfer deadline day.
Who knows what could happen in the coming hours. Both players could make late pushes to make the move happen.
The idea of Coady returning does not seem so ridiculous. He was extremely popular during his time at Molineux and was a fantastic captain.
He is not the same player as a few years ago, but as some fans have pointed out, the leadership he would bring could do wonders for a dressing room that is fighting against relegation.
