Premier League rival ‘monitoring’ £16m Wolves star ahead of summer transfer window

Wolves may have to hold on tight to Pedro Neto this summer, with fresh reports naming another Premier League club as one interested in the winger’s talents.

It comes as no surprise for Wolves to see other clubs impressed by the form and talent of Pedro Neto, with reports now adding Tottenham Hotspur to the mix as one of the sides that admire the 23-year-old.

In March 2022, the intricate forward penned a new deal with the Old Gold, taking his stay at the club to 2027 as he emerged as one of the most important players following his arrival in 2019.

It’s not always been easy for Neto, who has experienced a host of injury concerns but Gary O’Neil seems to be getting the best out of the £16m star, leading to an increase in interest from other clubs.

What has been said of Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Pedro Neto

As reported by journalist Dean Jones via Sports Lens this week, Spurs are on the hunt for a new winger, with one name being that of Neto.

Jones explained that Ange Postecoglou and co are ‘monitoring’ several players including Neto, who has also been said to be on the radar of fellow North London club Arsenal in the past.

Luckily for the Old Gold, the report documents that the 23-year-old isn’t the only player in the position that the Lilywhites are eyeing, with the primary narrative of the piece being Athletic Bilbao sensation, Nico Williams.

Pedro Neto is integral to Gary O’Neil’s Wolves XI

With 10 goal contributions in 14 appearances in the Premier League this season, Neto is thriving in the manager’s system, already blowing his tally of three contributions over the previous two campaigns out of the water.

Speaking in September, O’Neil expressed his delight with the winger, dubbing him an “absolutely incredible” asset in his front line.

“He has been absolutely incredible for the six or seven weeks I have been here.”

“His work rate, the way he trains, playing within the shape and structure and taking information on board.”

“He is incredibly talented and physically very gifted as well.”

It would be a great shame for Wolves to lose a player as influential as Neto in the summer, particularly when considering how well the forward has integrated into the manager’s style of play.

Interest from Spurs and beyond could be seen as unsettling for the Old Gold however, their number seven has already reassured the club this season of his desire to stay and achieve things at Molineux.

Speaking to the Telegraph in October, Neto said he loves the club and “will help everyone” in a bid to quiet down speculation over his future.

Only time will tell if O’Neil can keep hold of his star man, with interest expected for a player of his calibre and the form he continues to display in the Midlands.
