Premier League club now believe they can sign Wolves star for £60m this summer

Wolves have several players who will be linked with a move away in the summer and speculation has already started over one of their prized assets.

Wolves are having a tremendous season under the tutelage of Gary O’Neil.

The Wanderers have already booked their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals and are firmly in the hunt for European qualification; two achievements that would have been unthinkable when Julen Lopetegui walked out of Molineux just days before the Premier League season started.

Given the excellent start he’s made at Wolves, speculation surrounding his future has been rife, however, the 40-year-old has cooled that by telling supporters he isn’t going anywhere.

Sadly, the same can’t be said for star winger Pedro Neto, who looks destined to depart the club in the summer.

The 23-year-old has been a shining light for the Wanderers this term and his blistering form, despite missing two months of the season, has seen the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham register an interest.

Now, fellow Premier League rivals Newcastle United have entered the conversation.

Newcastle believe they can sign Pedro Neto for £60 million

It has been revealed previously that Wolves will hold out for upwards of £80 million for Neto and in this current market, they are right to set the bar high.

After all, the Portuguese superstar has served up 10 assists and scored three goals this season, underscoring his improvement under O’Neil.

That said, the Daily Mail reports that Newcastle’s club scouts have discussed the talented winger and believe a fee of £60 million would be enough to do a deal this summer.

If Wolves are said to be holding out for £80 million, as reported by multiple outlets, the Magpies have fallen some way short of luring Neto out of Molineux.

Wolves must hold out for £80 million

The interest in signing Neto is rife and multiple Premier League clubs are vying for his signature.

Of course, this is news that no supporters want to hear, but it does strengthen their chances of receiving a mammoth fee for him.

Crucially, with several sides interested, Wolves can afford to let a bidding war ensue and given his contract his contract expires in June 2027, it’s better if he is sold in this coming summer when his stock is at its highest.

For all of the talent he has in his repertoire, he has suffered his fair share of injuries and selling him for the touted £80 million can allow O’Neil to improve multiple areas of his side.

This will be vital if he does lead them into Europe, whether that is through the league or by winning the FA Cup.
