Wolves have watched many former players go on to spread their wings and make a name for themselves in world football.
Having just won the Champions League, Vitinha is the name on everybody’s lips around the West Midlands.
The midfielder spent a season on loan at Molineux, but it wasn’t meant to be, as it was largely a case of the right player at the wrong time.
Wolves may regret letting Vitinha go after seeing what he’s gone on to do, which might be the case for another player who is in line to secure a transfer to a Champions League club.

Tottenham and Arsenal show interest in Nathan Collins
Rayan Ait-Nouri will play in the Champions League next season with Manchester City, and so might one of the Algerian’s former Wolves teammates.
During the summer of 2023, Wolves sanctioned the sale of Nathan Collins to Brentford after only one year in the West Midlands.
Collins didn’t want to leave Wolves as he preferred to stay put, having only just relocated, and now, the defender could be on the move again.
As reported by TBR, both Tottenham and Arsenal are eyeing a transfer for Collins, which would represent the Irishman’s ticket to playing in the Champions League.
Despite finishing below Wolves in 17th, Spurs qualified for the Champions League by winning the Europa League, while Arsenal booked their place by finishing second in the 2024/25 Premier League table.
Spurs’ Champions League status could lure Collins to follow former manager Thomas Frank across the capital, in a move that will be of interest to those at Molineux.
Wolves could land a cash injection from Collins’ next move
Collins has impressed since leaving Wolves, begging the question as to why the Old Gold let him go in the first place.
Julen Lopetegui was the manager at the time, as the club sanctioned the centre-back’s £23m exit, bringing in a profit of just under £3m.
Wolves were praised for the sale of Collins as his brief time in the Midlands earned the Old Gold a cash injection, and now, another one could be due.
It was revealed that Wolves inserted a sell-on clause for Collins, meaning that the club will bank an additional profit when the Ireland international leaves Brentford.
Unfortunately, the size of the sell-on fee was not disclosed, but with two Champions League clubs eyeing the former Wolf, all could become clearer very soon.
