PL rivals could move for ‘outstanding’ Wolves star if they lose their £30m player

West Ham United could come calling for Wolves captain Max Kilman if they raise funds by selling defender Nayef Aguerd.

The claim follows reports this week that the Hammers have made Kilman a top target.

After being strongly linked with Napoli in the summer, Kilman, 26, has enjoyed a brilliant season so far for Wolves since taking the captain’s armband from the departed Ruben Neves.

Kilman took some time to get used to the role of captain, but has been performing really well in recent weeks at the back alongside Craig Dawson and Toti Gomes.

Now, it is being suggested West Ham may target the Englishman…

The Guardian have reported this afternoon that West Ham will make a swoop for Kilman if their Moroccan centre-back Aguerd leaves the club this month.

Aguerd, a £30 million addition from Rennes, could be sold with David Moyes looking to make changes to his back four. Apparently, the Scot has been tracking Kilkan for a while now.

Aguerd is stated to have had offers from the Saudi Pro League since the summer, and has made a number of errors for West Ham this term.

West Ham know that any deal for Kilman will be difficult. The player recently signed a new long-term contract at Wolves and is obviously a key player for the team and captain.

Not a chance

West Ham may as well not even bother trying to sign Kilman because there is no chance Wolves are selling him this month.

Kilman is a top talent who has previously been described as ‘outstanding’ by another former Wolves captain Conor Coady. He is only just about to come into his prime years and has been in the Wolves team consistently now for the past three years and in that time he has proven himself to be a really solid, modern-day Premier League centre-half.

He can play in a back three and a back four, is a fantastic ball player and also really dominates in the air.

Wolves aren’t going to sell their captain in the middle of the season to a Premier League rival, especially with the star having just penned a new deal.

A £40 million offer may ultimately arrive from West Ham, but there is absolutely no way that will even be considered.
