Pedro Neto reacts as forgotten player axed by Wolves in post-deadline development

Wolves have announced the departure of Bruno Jordao after four-and-a-half years at Molineux, allowing the midfielder to search for a new club permanently after a succession of loan spells.

Wolves have announced the permanent departure of 25-year-old Bruno Jordao, four-and-a-half years after he arrived at Molineux from Lazio in 2019.

Things were far from easy for Jordao in England, as he struggled to break into the first team like his counterpart, Pedro Neto.

The midfielder arrived from Lazio alongside teammate Neto, with the duo’s career in the Midlands taking opposing routes as the free-agent secured just five senior appearances for the Old Gold.

Speaking at the point of the duo’s arrival in England, former Sporting Director Kevin Thelwell shared his delight in capturing the pair.

“They’re two very talented individuals in positions we’re keen to add to.”

Unfortunately for Jordao, Neto was able to impose himself in the Premier League to a far greater extent, making his permanent exit come as little surprise.

How Bruno Jordao spent his time at Wolves

Things started swimmingly for the Portuguese midfielder at Wolves, scoring on his debut against Reading in a Carabao Cup fixture back in 2019, marking his only goal for the club at senior level.

The 25-year-old’s time at Molineux amounted to just 136 minutes of first-team football, making a single appearance in the Premier League by playing six minutes against Chelsea.

Sending Jordao on loan seemed to be the suitable option for both player and club, as the central midfielder featured for Portuguese outfits Famalicao and Santa Clara as well as Swiss club Grasshopppers.

In the 2022/23 campaign, the former Braga starlet secured 11 appearances for Santa Clara after overcoming a groin injury and a spell on the bench to conclude his senior playing exploits while on the books at Wolves.

What Bruno Jordao has said after leaving Wolves

Arriving as a 20-year-old, everyone associated with Wolves will wish Jordao all the best for the future, with his long-term teammate Neto commenting on his farewell Instagram post.
