Paul Merson makes prediction ahead of Wolves vs Fulham

Wolves are taking on Fulham in the Premier League this weekend.

Bruno Lage’s side are back at Molineux and are looking to get points on the board after losing the opener to Leeds United.

Last weekend, Wolves lost 2-1 at Elland Road.

Lage was unable to name a centre-forward in his matchday squad.

And he was forced to name a very inexperienced bench in west Yorkshire.

Next up is Fulham, and the Cottagers made an impressive start to 2022/23, holding Liverpool to a 2-2 draw at Craven Cottage.

Confidence will be high in the Fulham camp, and it could be a tough game.

But Wolves have signed Goncalo Guedes which is a big boost. The forward has come in from Valencia, and could really help improve the team in the final third.

Previewing the game for Sportskeeda, pundit Paul Merson has made his prediction for the game. He believes it will be a first three points of the season for Wolves.

Predicting Wolves to win 2-1, he said: “Fulham were impressive the other day but if they end up losing here, they have only one point from two games and the next one becomes a must-win.

“Wolves have got the better players, in my opinion. They don’t score a lot of goals, however, and that’s their Achilles’ heel. They scored early against Leeds and then didn’t score another one for the rest of the game.

“This is a big Premier League game for Wolves. The pressure is on for them, and you could see it in their manager last week. Fulham did well last week, but Wolves will be on their game and should be able to win this match.”

A big opportunity for Wolves, as Paul Merson predicts Wanderers to beat Fulham

Fulham made a brilliant start last weekend, but it’s still a fantastic chance for three points for Wolves.

The arrival of Guedes is a real boost for Lage.

Hopefully we will be seeing plenty of the Portugal international.

The obvious danger is Aleksandr Mitrovic, who has given Wanderers trouble in the past. Conor Coady in particular often found it tough against the Serbia international.

If Nathan Collins and Maximilian Kilman can keep him quiet, then there is a great chance for Wolves to win the game.
