Another player will be leaving Wolves on loan, with Yerson Mosquera set to seal a move to Villarreal this week.
Two first-team stars have already departed Molineux in this window, with Sasa Kalajdzic and Fabio Silva both securing temporary moves for the remainder of the season.
Kalajdzic returned to Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt, while Silva is with Rangers up in Scotland.
Goncalo Guedes, who had been on loan at Benfica, has now moved to Villarreal for the second half of the season after struggling for minutes.
It was suggested earlier this week that an agreement between Wolves and Villarreal over Mosquera was close – and now it looks as though confirmation of the move will arrive fairly soon…
Yerson Mosquera set to sign for Villarreal on loan from Wolves this week

According to Spanish outlet AS, an agreement is in place now between Wolves and Villarreal, and it is expected that the Colombia international will officially move this week.
Everything should be sorted in the coming days, and it is suggested that the negotiations between the clubs over Guedes allowed this move to come to fruition.
Villarreal boss Marcelino is said to have wanted more ‘muscle and speed’ in the centre of his defence.
Mosquera, of course, had just returned to Wolves after spending a year on loan at MLS club FC Cincinnati.
It was a successful spell for the 22-year-old, who made 35 appearances for the club. Pathways manager Steve David went out to watch the youngster and catch up with him towards the end of his spell, and reported back that he had been ‘outstanding’.
Davis also revealed that Mosquera had improved his English, which was something Wolves challenged him to do.
A great opportunity for Mosquera
Although it would have been great for Mosquera to play on loan at a Championship club – and there was plenty of interest from clubs in the English second tier – this is still a really good opportunity for the Wolves youngster.
Ultimately La Liga is one of the top divisions in Europe and Mosquera can now test himself against some really good players. It will certainly be a considerable step up from the MLS.
It’s going to be a great challenge for him, and the perfect place for him to build on the great 2023 he had over in the States.
He’s got Guedes for company and he is obviously a Spanish speaker, so one would imagine he’ll settle fairly quickly.
Hopefully, he can make himself a regular pick for Marcelino and then return to Wolves in the summer ready to be a first-team option.
