Matheus Nunes is ramping up his efforts to leave wolves in the final days of the transfer window – and talkSPORT pundit Ally McCoist has slammed the star’s behaviour.
Nunes has decided to go on strike at Wolves, and has not trained with the squad in recent days.
He was not given permission to do this.
It is an attempt to try and force Wolves to sell him to Manchester City, who have made him their top target.
Nunes wants to join City, but Wolves have a valuation and at the moment City are unwilling to meet it.
Nunes has skipped training – and McCoist has now criticised the 24-year-old.
Ally McCoist slams Wolves Matheus Nunes for going on strike
This morning, Nunes came in for real criticism from McCoist on talkSPORT.

He said: “I think Nunes is out of order. I look at someone like James Ward-Prowse for example who had a couple of games for Southampton already. I thought ‘brilliant attitude to play’. Clearly probably wanted to go to West Ham. Did not throw the toys out of the pram. Realised he was under contract.
“My problem with people like Nunes, is he shouldn’t have signed the contract if he wanted to move. If you’re happy to sign the contract and take the dough, you should be happy to see the contract out. Of course, I get it. I’d be wanting to move to Man City, we all would. But the fact of the matter is… some of them just look at the money and they don’t look at the time period.
“You cannot refuse to do your work. That’s the problem I have. Generally speaking, 99 times out of 100, you don’t want to keep a player that’s unhappy. But you can’t have them ruling the roost.
“If I’m Pep, do I say to myself ‘Do I really want somebody that’s willing to go on strike and not willing to honour a contract?'”
Ward-Prowse completed a £30 million move to West Ham earlier this summer.
A nightmare scenario for Wolves – but Nunes must now be sold
This is a complete nightmare for Wolves.
The club now have a player who actively is trying to force his way out with just days left in the transfer window.
And not just any player, probably Wolves’ best player.
It’s disgraceful from Nunes. McCoist is so right to use the example of Ward-Prowse. That is how you go about leaving a football club.

Wolves officials must now work overtime to get Nunes out of the club.
It just seems that a line has now been crossed. Nunes’ head has been turned and he clearly does not want to be at Molineux anymore.
Ideally, he’ll be sold for at least £60 million and Wolves will then use the money to reinvest into the squad.
