Transfer News

One club already have their sights set on Wolves star Pablo Sarabia in January

A handful of Wolves players have left the club over the last few days.

Two departed on loan on transfer deadline day in Fabio Silva and Chiquinho. Silva has joined Las Palmas on loan, while Chiquinho will spend the season with Mallorca.

And last night, Daniel Podence joined Saudi club Al-Shabab, with confirmation of that deal arriving this morning.

Despite all the speculation, Jose Sa will now be staying at Wolves at least until the next transfer window opens. Or he could still make a move to Turkey, although there have been no suggestions he’ll head there.

One player who was only very briefly linked with an exit from Wolves this summer was Pablo Sarabia – but one club already have eyes on him ahead of the January window.

According to Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, La Liga outfit Sevilla could make a move for Sarabia in January.

There is not a great feeling around the club at the moment, with fans concerned about the squad Victor Orta has assembled for the new season.

Sevilla sit second-bottom in the table after four games played, having taken just two points under Garcia Pimienta.

So there is already a feeling that Sevilla will look to strengthen in January – and Sarabia is mentioned as a possible target. It is also stated Sarabia ‘wants to return to Spain’.

So far this term, Sarabia has not started in the Premier League, with Jean-Ricner Bellegarde preferred. The Frenchman has been one of Wolves’ better performers up to now.

Sarabia saw a decent level of involvement last season for Wolves. But it has to be said, he benefitted a lot from injuries to Matheus Cunha, Hwang Hee-chan and Pedro Neto.

Had that trio remained for the whole season, Sarabia would not have featured as heavily.

Sarabia could seek January exit if he struggles for minutes

So Sevilla may already be thinking about trying to swoop for Sarabia in January – and this is a move you can certainly see interesting the player if his situation doesn’t change.

Sarabia has played just 90 minutes across three appearances so far in 2024/25. He did not even get off the bench against Nottingham Forest, with Hwang and Goncalo Guedes given the nod by Gary O’Neil. This, after Rayan Ait-Nouri was deployed as a winger from the start.

Sarabia is thought to be Wolves’ highest earner on about £90,000 per week.

But if the opportunity arises for him to become a regular back in his home country, you would imagine he would at least consider it
