Ominous scenes as Vitor Pereira target not included in matchday squad amid Wolves transfer links

Wolves fans hope for more signing this week – and one target is suspiciously absent from his club’s matchday squad tonight.

Last week, Wolves landed their third signing of the summer of David Moller Wolfe.

Moller Wolfe has arrived from AZ Alkmaar, and will now compete with Hugo Bueno for minutes at left wing-back.

But we know that Wolves are also seeking a new right wing-back, after Nelson Semedo finally declared his exit last week.

Marc Pubill had looked like being Semedo’s replacement for Wolves, until Atletico Madrid hijacked the deal at the eleventh hour.

Juanlu Sanchez then became of interest to Wolves, and fans have been hoping for developments.

One arrived earlier tonight when it was claimed Napoli had left Wolves in the clear to sign Sanchez by retreating – and now there’s been another potentially ominous development.

Sevilla are in action tonight in a pre-season friendly match against Saudi Pro League club Al-Qadsiah.

And their teamsheet has just revealed something interesting in that, there is no Sanchez in the matchday squad.

This comes just hours after Matteo Moretto reported that Wolves were closing in on Sanchez in a deal worth around £15 million, and that the player is open to coming to Molineux.

There is certainly an ominous feel about the situation, given the strong links to Wolves.

Neither Sevilla nor their manager Matías Almeyda have yet to make any comment about Sanchez’s absence.

Wolves must wrap up Sanchez deal decisively

On the face of it, it could be a good sign that Sanchez isn’t in action tonight for Sevilla.

But we all saw what happened with Pubill, so no one will be getting too carried away just yet.

And it is worth pointing out that Everton have also previously been linked with Sanchez, and they are in a similar predicament to Wolves in terms of needing a right-sided defender.

If Wolves are in pole position now, they cannot allow him to slip from their grasp.

To miss out on two targets within weeks of each other would be poor going.
