The Rui Patricio transfer saga is, finally, nearing its end.
The Wolves goalkeeper has been heavily linked with AS Roma pretty much since the end of the 2020/21 season.

Fabrizio Romano reported early on that Jose Mourinho was keen to link up with his fellow countryman.
The Italian journalist then said that Jose Sa would be a replacement for the 33-year-old.
Now, Patricio to Roma and Sa to Wolves have seemingly moved a step closer.
Journalist Konstantinos Lianos is reporting that goalkeeper Tomas Vaclik has landed in Athens ahead of his medical at Olympiacos.
He will be Sa’s replacement. The 28-year-old’s ‘bags are packed’ for Molineux, and Patricio will supposedly join Roma.
It is claimed the Sa deal is imminent and will be worth around £7.7 million
There’s potential for the three transfers to happen tomorrow, which is when Patricio’s medical is penciled in for at Roma according to Sky Sports.
Sa has big gloves to fill
It looks as though everything is now in place for Patricio to leave Wolves.

It is a shame he is leaving, but perhaps it is the right time before a potential decline starts.
Sa is a talented goalkeeper, but Patricio will be a tough act to follow.
