Wolves fans are hoping to see one or two late additions in the transfer window, but it looks as though Hugo Ekitike will be unlikely.
Gary O’Neil has wanted a striker this month but so far, he has not been able to bring one in.
The January window is always more difficult than the summer one, and Wolves are still having to be mindful of their spending, having already seen Everton already get docked points for breaching Profitability and Sustainability rules.
It remains to be seen if Wolves can get some new faces in, but realistically, Gary O’Neil has done a great job so far and it wouldn’t be so bad if no one came in.
One player linked with Wolves is Hugo Ekitike, but Wanderers are up against it to sign the Frenchman with two other clubs keen…
Nuno Espirito Santo could deal Wolves a transfer blow over Hugo Ekitike

According to Le10 Sport, there is now a three-way battle for Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike.
Wolves are still showing an interest, but Nottingham Forest – now managed by Nuno Espirito Santo of course – are also in the picture.
Forest are said to be applying pressure, as they seek extra firepower for the second half of the season.
The other club in the race of Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt. It has been reported previously that Ekitike had actually reached a salary agreement with them.
Ekitike – described as ‘very special’ by his old coach at Reims Oscar Garcia – was also said to be keen on playing in the German top-flight.
With Gary O’Neil having already lost Sasa Kalajdzic and Fabio Silva on loan this month, many Wolves fans are really hoping that someone like Ekitike could come in to provide a bit more cover.
The next few days will be fascinating
It has been a very slow January so far on the incomings front, but there are still a few days left for Wolves to do something.
It will be very interesting to see what Wolves do, if anything. A new striker really would be nice, with Nathan Fraser now the only out-and-out striker at the club.
O’Neil surely won’t want to run Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-chan into the ground. One injury to either of those players could be disastrous for the team.
Ekitike may still be a potential option. But the arrival of Forest and Nuno on the scene is a blow, and it could be that the club ultimately decide to make a move for Che Adams, whose contract at Southampton expires this summer.
