For a brief period on transfer deadline day, many Wolves fans got very excited as reports suggested Conor Coady was being lined up for a sensational return to the club.
Wolves and Leicester were in talks over a swap deal involving Coady and Craig Dawson, which came completely out of the blue.
But around an hour after that initial claim, the Coady and Dawson swap talk was dismissed.
It has since transpired that Coady was actually desperate to rejoin Wolves and had pushed to make it happen.
But it never got off the ground. Apparently, Leicester decided they weren’t keen to see one of their big dressing room leaders depart.
It is now starting to make sense why Wolves considered Coady, with Craig Dawson being left out of Wolves’ squad by Pereira. He’s not a player Pereira wanted to count on due to his profile, and Coady was seemingly seen as the ideal replacement.
Some have wondered if Conor Coady might become a target for Wolves in the summer.
But one claim suggests there could be competition.
Leeds United could consider Conor Coady move after Wolves transfer link

According to TEAMtalk, Coady has now emerged as a possible summer target for Leeds United.
Leeds are pushing for promotion at the moment and are currently second in the Championship table.
Coady will have one year left on his contract in the summer, so it will be interesting to see if Wolves go back in for him.
There would be no swap proposal, with Dawson out of contract in the summer. So Wolves would have to pay to sign Coady.
But he would not break the bank, and Wolves would be bringing back a player who was a fantastic captain at Molineux and a hugely popular figure with pretty much everyone.
Wolves could do worse than to re-sign Coady this summer
We don’t know yet if Wolves will look at Coady again in the summer, but it’s hard to argue against the club making an approach.
We have all seen this season how a lack of discipline and control has harmed Wolves’ cause.
Granted, most of the issues came under Gary O’Neil, and it seems like a corner has been turned since Vitor Pereira came in.
Nelson Semedo was a good choice of captain after Mario Lemina lost the armband, and things have looked up over the last month or so.

But there’s still a feeling that that dressing room could use a really top leader – and they don’t come much better in that department than Coady.
He was exemplary in the role of captain previously and is someone who would no doubt uphold standards and professionalism.
It sounds like Leeds could be in the mix for him this summer, so hopefully if Wolves are keen then they can win any race.
