Nathan Collins to Brentford ‘most likely’ to be next Wolves sale

Confirmation of Ruben Neves’ £47 million transfer to Al Hilal is imminent – and now there is work about another potential sale at Wolves.

Neves is making a move to Saudi Arabia, after Barcelona couldn’t stump up the cash to sign him.

Wanderers agreed the with Al Hilal on Sunday to everyone’s surprise, and the situation has since moved quickly.

Personal terms are agreed and the medical has been done.

And Neves will become the first sale by the club this summer.

But now there is word of another player potentially leaving Molineux.

Nathan Collins ‘most likely’ to be next player out after Ruben Neves with Brentford keen

This morning, The Athletic have a report about the Neves transfer and how quickly it moved. There is also word on how it kind of took the club by surprise.

But there is also a line about who could be next out the door after Neves.

They say that Nathan Collins could depart, with Wolves and Brentford currently in talks over a deal.

Collins only signed for Wolves last summer.

But Wanderers are seemingly open to doing business. It is stated that a fee of £25 million would Wolves take another big step towards balancing the books.

Wolves don’t particularly want to sell Collins given his potential and the fact he did only arrive last summer. But it is suggested that he would not be a ‘big part’ of Julen Lopetegui’s plans next season.

Wolves selling Nathan Collins to Brentford would be a major shame

This is actually a very surprising line from The Athletic.

We knew that Brentford had some interest in Collins. But to now read that he is the most likely to be the next sale after Neves is a surprise.

In the first few weeks of the 2022/23 season, Collins was arguably one of Wolves’ best players.

The team was struggling, but the Republic of Ireland international looked good at the back with Max Kilman.

He then started to struggle a little, as did a lot of Wolves players.

It would be a real shame if he left, because Collins has really big potential to become a top Premier League centre-back.

His early struggles at Wolves can perhaps be put down to inexperience. He could definitely get better in a Wolves shirt, but the club’s current financial situation may now see him sold before he gets the chance.
