Molineux star’s agents now trying to broker move to Saudi as David Ornstein drops big Wolves update

The agents of one Wolves player are seeking to secure a move to Saudi Arabia for their client.

Wolves fans have everything crossed for a positive end to the summer transfer window.

It started really well, with three positive additions in the form of Rodrigo Gomes, Pedro Lima and Jorgen Strand Larsen.

But Wanderers have made no additions for almost two months, and some fans have been growing concerned. It is set to be a busy few days at the club, with the club working on a number of deals at the moment.

Bastien Meupiyou is set to join from Nantes.

One other player who could be coming in is Sam Johnstone of Crystal Palace, but this would likely depend on Jose Sa leaving.

It has been reported by Alan Nixon via his Patreon this evening that Wolves are turning their attention to Sam Johnstone, after the club failed to land Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal.

A move for Ramsdale has proven too expensive for Wolves.

Palace are thought to value Johnstone at around £10 million, which would be more doable for Wolves.

Johnstone wants to leave Selhurst Park after losing his starting berth to Dean Henderson, and he feels he could potentially get that at Wolves.

But Sa would need to leave and it sounds like that is something that is now actively being worked on.

Nixon reports that his agents are trying to broker a deal for Sa to join a club in Saudi Arabia.

In the last moments, journalist David Ornstein has also reported Wolves are moving for Johnstone, with an agreement ‘close’.

Many Wolves fans will now take this

Some will be disappointed with the Ramsdale development earlier and be hopeful that this move for Johnstone now comes to fruition.

He wants out of Palace and Wolves clearly see him as a genuine option now late in the window.

It does sound as though Sa is possibly heading for the exit in these final days. There is no smoke without fire – all these links to goalkeepers have suggested that he’s been set to leave.

Following his display on Sunday against Chelsea, a lot of Wolves fans would not mind a change between the sticks now.

Sa has made some good contributions during his three years at the club. But he’s also shown an erratic side that many have had an issue with, and some have never really warmed to his style.
