Matt Hobbs’ Molineux visit looks ominous now as Crystal Palace eye Strand Larsen and Wolves teammate

Wolves will be busy in January – and Jorgen Strand Larsen and Joao Gomes could both be on their way out.

After a dreadful start to the 2025/26 season, Wolves are heading into January bottom of the Premier League table.

Just two points have been taken so far, and relegation is looking highly likely.

Wolves fans, tell us below which players you think will actually leave the club in January! ❌

As a result of Wolves’ situation, the club may now seek to cash in on some big names in order to instigate a rebuild ahead of next season.

Several names have been linked with an exit so far, with Jorgen Strand Larsen the latest player being spoken about.

West Ham United have been keen on Strand Larsen, but now it’s been revealed Crystal Palace are in the mix.

It has been reported by the Telegraph that Crystal Palace are interested in Jorgen Strand Larsen, whose relationship with the Wolves fans has been deteriorating in recent weeks.

The striker was sarcastically cheered off against Manchester United, and there were also jeers before he took his penalty against Brentford, which he ended up missing.

Now, Strand Larsen is linked with an exit from Wolves – and the Telegraph say Palace are likely to rival West Ham for the striker.

People were split when Matt Hobbs left Wolves in the summer, but what are your thoughts about his exit now? 🤔

But Palace’s interest doesn’t just stop at Strand Larsen.

It’s also claimed that midfielder Joao Gomes is a player they like.

It has been relatively quiet on Gomes in recent weeks in terms of transfer talk, but he has previously been linked with Manchester United.

Matt Hobbs ready to raid Wolves

It is perhaps little surprise to see Wolves players being linked with Crystal Palace, because Matt Hobbs now works for the Eagles.

Hobbs left Wolves in the summer after his sporting director role was dissolved as part of a restructure.

Hobbs was offered the chance to stay in a different role, but he chose to move on and is now Palace’s director of football.

Interestingly, this claim about Palace wanting Strand Larsen and Gomes comes after Hobbs was actually in attendance for Wolves’ game with Brentford last weekend.

Now it looks like he could be set to raid his former club, with Palace firmly in contention for European football again next season. They currently sit eighth on 26 points, three off the top four.

And of course, they are currently competing in the Europa Conference League, sitting 10th in the League Phase table. So they have every reason to try and strengthen, and Hobbs obviously knows Strand Larsen and Gomes well.
