Mateus Mane has been the talk of the town at Wolves lately, so it was perhaps inevitable that other clubs would become linked.
Mateus Mane has been a revelation for Wolves over the past couple of months or so.
Since Rob Edwards came in, the teenager has seen much more involvement for the Old Gold and he has now started the last three Premier League games.
On Saturday, he put in his best performance yet for Wolves, having a hand in all three goals against West Ham United.
He scored the third himself in brilliant fashion, leading to compliments from several pundits. Alan Shearer branded Mane ‘absolutely outstanding’ for his efforts.
Of course right now, the transfer window is open and several players are being linked with exits from Molineux.
And one club now have their eye on Mane, in a development Wolves fans will not welcome.
Newcastle eyeing Wolves rising star Mateus Mane

Mane’s reputation is really starting to grow.
Across the last few games, he’s been the standout player for Wolves, and he has really caught the eye with his fearless approach.
He looks like a special prospect, and Wolves obviously have very high hopes for the teenager.
But it seems the club may have to fend off other clubs as early as this month.
According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United are among the clubs to have checked on Mane, with Aston Villa targeting their forward William Osula.
Do you trust Wolves not to cash in on Mateus Mane this month? 🥴
It was inevitable he would attract attention, with Newcastle reportedly keen…
There is no information regarding Wolves’ stance or any mention of a valuation.
But it’s probably safe to say that any approaches for Mane this month would not be welcomed.
The claim comes after it was reported Newcastle could reignite their interest in Jorgen Strand Larsen, after failing to sign the striker in the summer.
Wolves categorically must not sell Mane
Transfer interest in Mane was probably inevitable given how good he’s been and how high his ceiling looks to be.
But Wolves’ stance should be very simple; they need to rebuff any approaches for Mane.
It would send out the complete wrong message to cash in, with Mane having only just come onto the scene.
Valid or outright crazy? Where do you place Mateus Mane among academy graduates at Wolves?
Early days, but the signs are so promising!
He has had a remarkable impact on the team and Wolves are better for having him in the starting XI, as he provides a threat in and around the area.
It’s little surprise Mane has admirers already, but it is paramount that Wolves keep the vultures at arm’s length and keep this amazing young talent.
