The January transfer window could play a pivotal role in defining Wolves’ season as Gary O’Neil eyes new signings.
O’Neil’s men are in a desperate position at the bottom of the Premier League table and are currently four points from safety.
Wolves host Ipswich Town in a huge relegation six-pointer at Molineux in what is arguably their biggest game of the season so far.

Beyond the worries of the league table and the future of O’Neil, the Old Gold are focused on investing in the January transfer window.
Wolves are targeting a new centre-back in the hope of improving their woeful defensive record but it isn’t just incomings that will concern the club, as they anticipate interest for several of their stars.

Manchester City have scouted Wolves ace Matheus Cunha
Considering where the Wanderers are in the table, they have many talented players who they could offload for huge sums of money.
For instance, wing-back Rayan Ait-Nouri has previously attracted interest from Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Ait-Nouri isn’t the only player touted with an exit, as £60k-a-week star Matheus Cunha has been linked with Manchester United and their arch-rivals.
According to The Telegraph, Man City have previously ‘scouted’ Cunha and Crystal Palace superstar Eberechi Eze.
Pep Guardiola is eyeing a huge rebuild at the Etihad Stadium after witnessing their sad decline this term and scouting the Brazilian suggests a bid could be tabled, either in January or the summer.
How Wolves currently feel about selling Cunha
Fosun have a history of asset-stripping Wolves by offloading their best players. Pedro Neto and Max Kilman were the latest to leave in the summer.
But luckily, Wolves have no plans to sell Cunha before the end of the 2024/25 campaign, although they could struggle to hold onto him in 2025.
Wolves also want to offer Cunha a lucrative contract to remain at Molineux, with the Brazilian expressing how much Wolverhampton feels like ‘home’.

Cunha, who was dubbed sensational by Micah Richards, is indispensable to the Wanderer’s hopes of surviving this term and they must hold onto him at all costs.
