Manchester City eyeing Wolves player Pep Guardiola previously branded ‘incredible’

Wolves fans are bracing themselves for a summer of transfer speculation surrounding Pedro Neto – and it seems Manchester City are now ready to potentially come calling.

Neto has been one of the stars of the show this season for Wanderers.

The Portuguese winger has scored three goals and made 11 assists, helping Wolves up to ninth in the Premier League table after 28 games played, and into an FA Cup quarter-final.

Neto’s performances have been brilliant, with his end product much improved compared to previous seasons.

He’s efforts this term have obviously not gone unnoticed, and plenty of clubs are tackling him.

Today though, there has been word of interest from Premier League champions Manchester City…

Wolves know clubs are going to be in for Neto this summer.

He has just been outstanding this term, and the club certainly face a battle to keep hold of him.

But Wolves are in a better place financially now, after selling many players last summer and not spending in January. With the club not under pressure to sell and Neto under a long contract, the club can name a big asking price.

According to the Telegraph, City could come calling this summer, as well as Liverpool and Arsenal.

City raided Wolves last summer of course when they signed Matheus Nunes, and seemingly Neto is another player from Molineux they like.

It is stated that he is ‘rated highly by the scouting team at the Etihad Stadium’.

Back in 2021, Neto drew praise from City manager Pep Guardiola, who said (via talkSPORT): “Neto is an incredible player.”

Wolves face big battle to keep Neto amid Man City interest

Even though Wolves won’t be under financial pressure this summer, there is still a goal for Fosun for the club to become self-sustaining.

It is foolish to think Neto will not be sold just because he doesn’t have to be – if a big offer comes in that is fair, and the player is ready to go, then he will go. It has previously been claimed Wolves could seek as much as £80 million for the star.

City obviously have the financial muscle to afford Neto – and they may well be willing to pay big.

They saw how Neto destroyed them earlier this season in the 2-1 win for Wolves at Molineux.

Guardiola could lose Bernardo Silva this summer meaning he would then need a player capable of operating the right wing, which Neto can.
