Wolves are keen to keep their top stars, but could now come under pressure regarding one player in particular.
Wanderers fans are really optimistic about the season ahead.
Gary O’Neil has done some brilliant work with the team during pre-season so far, overseeing four victories.
The players look sharp, focused and determined ahead of the new campaign. It has been good to see the three newbies all making an impact as well.
It has gone a little quiet on the transfers front in recent weeks, both in terms of players coming in and going out.
Max Kilman remains the only outgoing so far, but that doesn’t mean clubs aren’t circling some other Wolves players.
Manchester United eye Joao Gomes after ending Manuel Ugarte pursuit

Manchester United have been linked with Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes before.
Apparently they see him as a potential long-term successor to Casemiro.
But the Red Devils could now ramp up their efforts to sign the former Flamengo man, after they decided to end their interest in the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte, according to Football Transfers.
Gomes is said to be ‘high’ on United’s list of targets, and they could come calling for Wolves’ tenacious ball-winning star.
It is also mentioned that Chelsea have interest in Gomes.
They are selling Conor Gallagher to Atletico Madrid, and might come calling for Gomes to replace him. Apparently, he’s set to join the Spanish giants for around £35 million.
Wolves were previously reported to value Gomes at at least £60 million.
Wolves must not sell

Every player has a price, but Wolves should be doing all they can to keep hold of Gomes At least for another season.
He has been on an exciting trajectory since he came to the club in January 2023, and it is simply far too soon to sell. He’s on a contract at Molineux until 2028 so the ball is firmly in Wolves’ court.
Potentially, his market value could sky-rocket over the next year or two, and Wolves don’t want to be selling too early.
Gomes – who’s been described as ‘a super talent’ by O’Neil – has already established himself as one of the best ball-winners in the Premier League, and has struck up a brilliant partnership with Mario Lemina in the Wolves midfield.
He seems very happy at Molineux and recently talked up manager Gary O’Neil and said how much respect he has for him, so him departing does feel quite unlikely.
